Bainbridge Island, WA (April 15, 2016)  – Terry Arndt, a career transition expert, author, speaker and coach, will speak on June 8, 2016 at the AICPA Practitioners Symposium and TECH+ Conference hosted by the American Institute of CPAs, the world’s largest member organization representing the accounting profession.

Arndt will speak on the demands Millennials have for employers, as well as the challenges they have in terms of professionalism, communication and relevant work experience.  In addition, Arndt will share how employers are developing successful onboarding programs to recruit, train and retain the best talent.

“Employers face a unique challenge when recruiting Millennials into the workforce. MIllennials offer unique skill sets and talents previous generations have not been able to offer.  However, they often lack key skills sets and talents employers still demand” stated Arndt.  “Colleges don’t have the resources, nor is it a priority for them, to create great employees.  Employers need to step-up and take responsibility to train Millennials on the soft skills (professionalism, communication, etc.) they are seeking. But they also need to understand that Millennials work differently and have different ambitions than past generations.  They want flexibility.  They want experiences. They want to change the world.  Employers who understand this are having great success” added Arndt.

As President of College Transition Publishing, Arndt has spoken at numerous professional conferences and trade events regarding the transition from college to the workforce, including the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), National Academic Advising Association (NACADA), National Career Development Association (NCDA), League for Innovations in the Community College, The American Institute of CPAs, Society for Human Resource Management, and several other industry specific organizations.
