It was truly an honor and privilege to be a part of the NAVUB National Conference. I’ve learned that the Veterans Upward Bound programs have an incredibly challenging mission. In addition to be under staffed, under budgeted, and under paid…the odds are stacked against you. With 200,000 military members/year transitioning out of the military each year, your 49 programs have a monumental task. Failure is not an option. You must be successful.

As I mentioned in my program, Veterans Transition Publishing is an ally in your mission. In addition to publications we produce to assist the student veterans you serve, we also offer a wealth of resources to assist you. I encourage you to take full advantage of these resources. And be sure to stay updated on new resources as they become available by signing-up for our newsletter.

Provided below are just a few of the resources I mentioned were available during my presentation. Please take advantage of them, including:

A free webinar I’m hosting on developing a successful transition program. Even if you are not able to attend, register for the event and you’ll be forwarded a copy of the program to watch at your convenience.

Many of you had inquired about copies of the slides from my program.  You can access those here (NAVUB Slides).

If you are interested in ordering any of my publications, be sure to use promo code VET2016 when ordering. That will save you 25% on your order. Remember, that promotional rate is good for 30 days after the conference.  You can place your ORDER HERE or by clicking on any of the book images below.

Next, during my program I failed to give the appropriate shout-out to a very special member of NAVUB, Shawna McNeal-McKenzie, Veterans Upward Bound Project Director at Henderson State University. Shawna was one of a handful of talented contributors/reviewers of my latest publication, Camo to Career: The Veteran’s Guide to Career Success. Please be sure to congratulate Shawna on her part in the development of this great publication.

Also, if you happen to take a pic of my program or of the book signing (I know you are out there), please share those with me. It’ll help me prove to my wife that I’m actually working when I leave the house 🙂  You can email them to me at terry@veterantransitionpublishing.com.

Finally, I’d love to be part of future NAVUB programs – be it a presenter at the national conference, partnering on educational webinars for NAVUB members, or other programming that will be of value to helping you and your colleagues achieve success. If you agree, please share that with Dinu and Leroy. I can tell them all day long about how members have told me this and that…but when it comes directly from you, it really does mean much more.

Thank you!  Be sure to connect with me on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter!
